The Kansas Silent Film Festival

The Kansas Silent Film Festival is back for its 14th year Friday night – February 26th and all day Saturday – February 27th, 2010 at White Concert Hall on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. As with all previous events, admission is free and open to the public. Kansas City film historian, Denise Morrison will provide introductions for the films to be presented, providing an overview of the silent film era and the artists who created them.

Wizard of OZ: 70th Anniversary

A classic of classics is coming back to the big screen for one night only. On September 23rd, theaters around the US will be playing The Wizard of Oz in high-def courtesy of Fathom Events. The film has been entirely remastered and this is the very first time it has ever been shown in hi-def, so you definitely don’t want to miss out. Tickets are already on sale and probably going fast, so hurry up and get them here.
